Welcome to Kubu Taru

Kubu Taru is a private home within a living Balinese village. These guidelines help us care for the property, respect our neighbours, and preserve the village atmosphere that makes this place special. Please take a moment to read through them before your stay.

Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out may be available on request, depending on the booking schedule. Our property manager will greet you on arrival and provide a walkthrough of the home, including how to operate the water system, lighting, and kitchen facilities.

The property is accessed via a village lane. We will send detailed directions and a pin location before your arrival. Please drive slowly and be mindful of village residents, children, and ceremonial processions.

Kubu Taru is a traditional Balinese compound. Please treat the timber, furniture, and fittings with care. Shoes should be removed before entering the home. The floors are polished concrete and timber, and can be slippery when wet.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering. Please wash and put away dishes after use and leave the kitchen clean. Please be mindful of water usage as the supply is shared with the surrounding village community.

Kubu Taru sits within a living Balinese village. Please be respectful of village customs, temple ceremonies, and daily offerings. When walking through the village, dress modestly and greet neighbours warmly — a smile goes a long way.

The village lanes are shared with residents, motorbikes, and ceremonial processions. Please be aware of your surroundings and give way to ceremonies when they pass. Do not enter temple grounds without invitation or appropriate attire.

We are committed to treading lightly within this community. Please separate your waste using the bins provided — organic waste is composted on site. We ask guests to minimise single-use plastic and to refill water bottles from the filtered supply.

Electricity is used sparingly. Please switch off lights and fans when leaving the room. Hot water is solar-heated and may take a few minutes to come through. The home is designed to be naturally ventilated and cool.

Smoking is not permitted inside the home. Designated smoking areas are available on the outdoor terraces. Kubu Taru is located within a village and we ask that guests respect the peace of the neighbourhood, particularly after 10:00 PM.

Pets are not permitted on the property. Additional guests beyond the booking party are not allowed to stay overnight without prior arrangement. Any damage to the property should be reported promptly to our property manager.
